영국 BBC가 영국 스카우트 단원들이 전북 부안 잼버리대회에서 퇴소해 호텔로 이동하기로 보도한 이후, 미국도 평택 기지로 단원들을 이동하기로 한 것으로 전해졌습니다.
영국과 미국 스카우트 단원들이 대회 참가 중단을 보이면서 잼버리 대회가 중단될 가능성도 제기됩니다.
세계스카우트연맹도 성명을 내고 대회 중단을 권고했습니다.
5일 미국 스카우트 운영위측은 폭염 때문에 평택 미군기지 캠프 험프리스로 돌아가기로 한 것으로 전해졌습니다.
미국 스카우트 대원들은 앞서 전북 부안 잼버리 캠프장에 도착하기 전에 캠프 험프리스에 하루 머무른 바 있습니다. 다시 돌아간다는 것입니다. 미국은 1200명이 잼버리 대회에 참여했습니다.
영국 스카우트 단원 4500명도 서울 호텔로 이동하기로 한 상태입니다.
세계스카우트연맹은 성명을 내고 한국 주최측에 잼버리 대회를 종료할 것을 권고했다고 밝혔습니다.
세계스카우트연맹은 대회 주최측이 참가자들의 건강과 안전을 최우선으로 해야 한다고 촉구했습니다. 대회 계속여부는 오전 각국 스카우트 대표 협의 등에서 결정될 가능성이 있는 것으로 전해졌습니다.

Today, the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) continued to work closely with the Korean Scout Association (The Host) and the Government of Korea to mitigate heat wave risks on Jamboree operations and participants.
We have been informed that the UK Contingent has decided to leave the Jamboree camp early, allowing the Scouts to continue their Jamboree experience in Seoul until they are scheduled to travel home.
WOSM today asked the Host to consider alternative options to end the event earlier than scheduled and support the participants until they depart for their home countries. The Host decided to go ahead with the event, assuring that they will do everything possible to address the issues caused by the heat wave by adding additional resources.
We continue to call on the host and the Korean government to honor their commitments to mobilize additional financial and human resources, and to make the health and safety of the participants their top priority.
