미국 지질조사국은 애초에 지진 규모를 7.1이라고 발표했다가, 규모를 7.0으로 조정했습니다.

이번 지진의 충격은 400km 넘게 떨어진 수도 마닐라까지 전해져, 주민과 노동자들은 건물 밖으로 대피했습니다. 필리핀화산지진연구소는 "주민들은 여진에 대비해야 한다"면서도 "이 지역이 내륙이라 쓰나미 경고는 없다"고 밝혔습니다.
